Kobian unveils 'Mercury magiQ' dual SIM tablet at Rs. 12,700

Kobian has announced the launch of its first dual SIM tablet - Mercury magiQ. The 5-inch magiQ tablet seems to be more of a hybrid much like the Samsung Galaxy Note or the Dell Streak rather than a tablet.

The Mercury magiQ works on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and runs on a 1GHz processor. It has 512MB of RAM and features 4GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card and a capacitive multi touch display.

The dual SIM tablet supports 3G/Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well. Mercury magiQ has dual camera with front camera for video chatting and a 12MP rear camera. Kobian claims that the device has a long battery backup which provides a standby up to 15 days and talk time up to 13hrs. We will put that claim to the test. The device is quite lightweight as well - a mere 140gm.

The Mercury magiQ comes with in-built accelerometer, supports GPS, phone book, call record history, SMS, MMS, e-mail, push mail and IM. The magiQ is designed with multiple I/O ports like dual SIM slot, TF card slot, mini USB port and 3.5 mm audio jack and is 11.6mm thick.

Announcing the launch of the new device, Sushmita Das, Country Manager India at Kobian said, "Mercury magiQ tablet is a tab-cum-smart phone designed to meet and satisfy current user needs. It has all the latest features and an attractive slim and stylish look to complete the package with Dual SIM being the cherry on the top."

The Mercury magiQ comes with an MRP of Rs. 12,700 and is available ex-stock with 1-year warranty.
