Berlin Brain Computer Interface lets you play pinball, with your mind

Berlin Brain-Computer Interface as it turns out, this man is playing this game of pinball with his brain. I’m not saying that he’s really getting his head into the game, but his head is playing the game.

You can watch a video of the setup of this person in action after the jump.

I really have no idea if this man is just some visitor to CeBIT or someone who works for the company, but you can watch him as they set him up to play pinball on this Addams Family themed pinball machine.

LG uses Hillcrest Labs’ patented Freespace in-air pointing and Motion Control Technology to their 3D TV

Hillcrest Labs is proud to announce that LG, the South Korean consumer electronics giant, will be using their patented Freespace in-air pointing and motion control technology for their latest line of 3D-ready, Internet-connected HDTVs which have hit the Korean market, only to be unleashed upon the rest of the world later on. Known as the “Magic Wand” remote, it will see action in selected models within LG’s new INFINIA line of LED LCD HDTVs. Just to whet your appetite, the INFINIA sets will come in a slim design, a thin bezel, and an enhanced Internet connectivity package that will carry with it a variety of entertainment options, such as LG’s NetCast Entertainment Access. Not only that, the inclusion of a wired Ethernet jack in the INFINIA sets will allow these NetCast-enabled TVs to integrate themselves into a wireless home network seamlessly thanks to a USB wireless broadband adaptor (that is sold separately, unfortunately). If you love being first in everything, then the INFINIA models ought to be your purchase choice, since they are the first to use LG’s unique “Magic Wand” remote control system.

Kandela Candles Turn On with a Magic Wand

It has been one year since we reported on the Kymera Remote Control that works like a magic wand. Only instead of using magic, it has the power of technology.

Those who love Harry Potter will probably rejoice that there is another wand-controlled device, just in time for the next Harry Potter movie. Well, half of a Harry Potter movie. In case you don’t know, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is a Part I.

There is a video of it after the jump from my Source that shows how it works. As you can see, one flick turns the candles on (and it works with multiple candles), and other flick turns the candles off. You don’t have to use any stupid magic words like “Luminus Candleus” like at Hogwarts, and you can use some interesting flicking to get the candles flicking.

Sonos SUB Wireless Subwoofer

The Sonos SUB wireless subwoofer has every intention of filling up your home with bass, and it will do so far more compared to any current Sonos setup. Specially designed to complement the already impressive sonic capabilities of Sonos amplified products including the CONNECT:AMP, the PLAY:3 and the PLAY:5, this particular device will throw in a generous amount of throbbing bass into the mix. Sonos claims that the system settings will be automatically adjusted to balance the SUB with the output from any paired Sonos device in order to deliver nothing but the very best mix.

Apart from that, there is also a simple, one-button setup procedure, allowing the unit to be controlled over the dedicated Sonos Controller or dedicated free Android/iOS apps on mobile devices. Features of the Sonos SUB wireless subwoofer include a couple of state-of-the-art Class-D digital amplifiers within an acoustically dead proprietary resin outer shell with maximum internal air volume, and built-in digital signal processing circuitry. It will come in just one shade – Gloss Black, when it arrives this June 19th for $699 a pop.

Folding Electric Bicycle

The name Folding Electric Bicycle does give the game away, where this $2,000 electric bicycle will be able to fold in half, making it perfect for commutes and storage at work or an apartment.

It will be folded around its integrated battery compartment, where its front half collapses against its rear half, whereas its front unifork will fold into the frame, resulting in a compact 30″ x 18″ x 12″ shape. It can be deployed for riding in an instant, thanks to its silent 250-watt electric motor which will help you go uphill without breaking a sweat, or you can power across broad flats for smooth cruising on its 20″ tires at a top speed of up to 15 mph in full-power mode.

The removable 24-volt rechargeable lithium battery comes with a 15-mile range, taking half a dozen hours to charge up. It is made out of aircraft aluminum frame, and can support riders of up to 250 lbs.

Griffin Technology announces SmartTalk Solar

Griffin Technology has recently announced the SmartTalk Solar, which is a handsfree solar-charged speakerphone that targets smartphone owners. After all, we all know that it is for our own safety as well as the rest of the road users that we do not drive with just one hand, while the other hand handles a smartphone or even a featurephone. In fact, one is liable to be pulled over for a fine and being chastized by the highway officer for flaunting the road rules, endangering the lives of others in the process. The SmartTalk Solar intends to reduce the chances of you talking on your phone with just one hand on the wheel, and will connect to any compatible handset via Bluetooth.

LG Optimus True HD LTE launches in Europe and Asia

LG continues their march forward to LTE smartphone dominance (although other parties might disagree with that considering the paltry number of releases to date) with the release of their latest model, the Optimus True HD LTE. This particular smartphone will see action in the following countries – Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Hong Kong and Singapore. Originally having rolled out in Korea (the South, obviously), and is now available in Japan, Canada and the US, the LG Optimus True HD LTE will be LG’s flagship LTE powered device.

iHome iDM5 Executive Work Station

The name iHome often conjures up iPod and iPhone docks as well as iOS-powered speaker systems for me most of the time, and I am not quite sure whether the same applies to you or not. Well, this time around, iHome’s latest release that they call the iHome iDM5 Executive Work Station has every intention to make tablets as well as Bluetooth-enabled smartphones all the more functional, where it comes with a rather compact footprint so that no additional clutter is added to your work area.

Classic Super Famicom Controller For Wii

You were one of the first few who picked up the Nintendo Wii when it was first released all those years ago, and still spend some time playing it each week just to keep yourself occupied? Surely you wished at times that the world of video games stopped back when the SNES was at its zenith, and thankfully, with the Nintendo Wii, you are able to play your favorite SNES titles thanks to the Wii Virtual Console. However, the Wii controller is not exactly the most comfortable controller to use, which is where the $19.99 Classic Super Famicom Controller For Wii comes in handy.

Get this even if you have stopped playing with your Wii, just for old times’ sake. After all, did you not grow up with Nintendo in your living room, not to mention the bitter rivalry with Sega? Well, at least you can set one thing right today – that is, to play SNES virtual console games with the Classic Super Famicom Controller For Wii.

Holographic avatars in New York City’s airports

This unique virtual assistant is able to answer travelers’ questions just about anything and everything concerning travel – ranging from luggage and gate assignments, to security and arrivals. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have proceeded with the installation of these virtual babes that are projected on a plexiglass cutout, and they will answer your questions ala Siri. Hopefully it can recognize the numerous accents that are spoken by tourists and those from outside of the city alike!

iFrogz Boost – Now you all Can Hear It!

Honda Unveils Seated Indoor Transport Vehicle

Honda just came out with The UNI-CUB, an all-electric, self-balancing vehicle much like a small Segway, that utilizes a saddle instead of standing. The UNI-CUB cruises at about three miles an hour, for about 3 miles, and it can fold up for easy storage when not in use.

Fitbit Aria WiFi Smart Scales

The £99.99 Fitbit Aria WiFi Smart Scales will feature a digital display, meausring your exact weight. While doing so, it will also send a small (and obviously harmless) electrical pulse through your body, where doing so will allow it to track your body/fat ratio. When you merge this with the Fitbit’s current exercise, sleep and diet tracking process, there should be no excuse whatsoever to not adhering to your fitness program.

The elegant looking ‘floating’ glass surface might seem brittle at first glance, but rest assured, it is solid enough to handle even those massive WWE wrestlers. A quartet of load-cells are incorporated for precise weight measurement and ITO electrodes for bioimpedance analysis, which basically measures your body fat ratio in plain English. All information gathered will be automatically uploaded to the Fitbit website over a Wi-Fi connection for your future reference.

Sphero – More fun than Angry Birds

The £99.99 Sphero has been touted to be one of the most keenly anticipated UK releases for this year, debuting at CES last year to rave reviews.

This might seem like a normal ball at first glance, lacking any buttons or interactivity of any kind, but the moment you shake it (and infuse it with kinetic energy), it will start to glow. Place it on the ground and start a free app on your smartphone, where the Sphero will then adhere to your commands sent via the smartphone. Basically, you now have a remote controlled ball robot. Use this to play a game where you try to evade a ball-mad dog or cat, it will definitely be far more fun than Angry Birds.

Inflatable Walk On Water Mat

The $999.95 Inflatable Walk On Water Mat, allowing you to walk, run, and lounge about like a lizard – right there and then in the middle of a pool of water.

The Inflatable Walk On Water Mat is a 90′ sq. float that is capable of holding up to half a dozen adults, as long as their collective weight do not surpass the 1,000 lbs. mark, otherwise it will end up like the Titanic. You can sprint on it, perform cartwheels, and even be a human cannon ball to jump straight into a lake (make sure there are no human eating fish in there first!). One of the reasons as to why it is so durable is the material – the Inflatable Walk On Water Mat is made out of reinforced 500-denier fabric that is fused with layers of 28-oz. PVC, allowing it to withstand even the most vigorous play.

Nokia delivers live traffic advice and geocoding to Bing platform

Nokia’s partnership with Bing to deliver the best location-based services and apps has yielded with what was recently announced – Bing Maps is now using the Nokia Maps traffic information and geocoding algorithms, where it will take latitude and longitude information while connecting that to a readable address, to boot. The power of Nokia’s Where Platform which was outlined last month will see action here, where Nokia is also offering compelling, market-leading functionalities to third parties so that they are able to quickly and easily create their own app experiences using location-based features.

LG’s “Ultimate Display” - World’s largest and slimmest 55-inch OLED TV

LG Electronics of South Korea has just ushered in a spanking new era of TV after unveiling the world’s largest and slimmest 55-inch OLED TV, where the event took place in Europe at Monaco’s world famous Salle des Etoiles. This particular unveiling happened right in front of an audience of 400 dealers, journalists and special guest F1 champion Sebastian Vettel, where LG officials has a mission statement in their career to churn out the most advanced commercial OLED TV in the market. I suppose they have done a pretty good job at it, and LG is also proud to be the first company to deliver these TVs to European consumers sometime in the second half of 2012.

iTwin - A Very Cool Double-Sided Thumb Drive

iTwin, a very cool double-sided thumb drive that splits apart in the middle and works like a double sided cable, (without the cable, of course) just plug one half into one computer and the other half into a different computer (both Internet connected) and Voila! the computers are connected, your files are instantly available.

Voicepic – Your Pictures Speak

Well, Smartphone users can now easily let their pictures speak for themselves with this brand new photo sharing app, Voicepic, which allows you to add a 5 second audio recording to any of your photographs and then share them to Facebook or on the Voicepic website, almost instantly. Voicepics can also be shared via your regular e-mail account, Twitter or other social outlets.

Project Glass Video

Google has just released the first video ever shot with their Project Glass, an eyewear concept that seemingly hails from the future. The video was recorded with the wearer having some fun, jumping around and performing 360-degree flips on a trampoline. There was at least one instance where a backflip was performed, and I must say that the Project Glass performed admirably, as it remained stuck to the wearer throughout the entire duration. Wearing this during a roller coaster ride, however, might prove to be a very different story altogether as the G forces might work against the pair of Google glasses.

Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin have already been caught wearing a pair of these in the past, while other images of the Project Glass being worn has also been captured for posterity’s sake in the past. This, a video, is a first of its kind, and looks set to make Internet history. Google did reveal, however, that a commercial release of Project Glass happening this year is highly unlikely, so do not waste your time keeping your fingers crossed for a pair to be released later this year.

Birth of the Bionic Eye

In 2012, electrodes will bring eyesight to the blind

SEEING THE SIGHTS Barbara Campbell's retinal prosthesis sends 30 images per second to her optic nerve.
When light hits Barbara Campbell's eyes, it triggers no response in her retinas, and no signals flash up her optic nerves to her brain. A genetic disease killed off her retinas' photoreceptor cells, leaving her completely blind by her 30s. But where her body failed her, technology rescued her. In 2009, at the age of 56, Campbell had an array of electrodes implanted in each eye, and she now makes her way through the world more confidently, aided by bionic vision.

Her sight isn't fully restored, not by a long shot, but the darkness has been replaced with rough shapes and patterns of light and dark. "The building where I live has a large light at the entranceway outside," says Campbell, who lives in New York City. "I hadn't been able to see that light in 16 years. Now, when I'm walking down the block, I can look up and identify the building."

Bionic Eye? Microchip Implants Restore Some Vision To Men Blinded By Retinitis Pigmentosa

Retinal Implant
Chris James and Robin Millar of the United Kingdom both lost their vision after birth because of a genetic condition known as retinitis pigmentosa, in which light-sensitive cells in the eye stop working. Now, surgeons have partially restored vision to both men with tiny electronic chips that promise to help the blind see the same way cochlear implants have helped the deaf hear. Teams of doctors at the Oxford Eye Hospital and King’s College Hospital in London embedded the small square chips—0.12 by 0.12 inches—in a thin sheet of tissue at the backs of the men’s eyes. As soon as they were switched on, the chips began performing the duties of defunct photoreceptors—also called rods and cones—converting light into electrical impulses that travel to the brain. A thin cable threaded beneath the skin connects the chip to a battery pack, which also sits under the skin near the ear.

Large Synoptic Survey Telescope

Most large telescopes are designed to look at tiny regions of the sky for minutes or hours at a time. These views allow the telescope’s instruments to observe objects that are extremely faint and far away.

An artist's concept of the completed LSST [Michael Mullen Design / LSST Corporation]

But a telescope that is under construction in Chile is taking a different approach. The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) will take brief snapshots of wide areas of the sky. Using this approach, it will photograph the entire sky every three nights.

The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope needs World’s Largest Digital Camera

World's largest 3.2 billion-pixel digital camera project passes critical milestone

The LSST camera will be the largest digital camera ever constructed. Its size of roughly five feet by 10 feet is similar to that of a small car and it will weigh over three tons. It is a large-aperture, wide-field optical imager designed to provide a 3.5° field of view with better than 0.2 arcsecond sampling. The image surface is flat with a diameter of just over two feet. The detector format will be a mosaic of 16 megapixel silicon detectors providing a total of approximately 3.2 billion pixels. Credit: Image Courtesy of the LSST Corporation.

Although the pixel count for consumer cameras continues to rise, they will all pale in comparison to the 3,200-megapixel Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) camera. Although the enormous astronomical camera has yet to be built, last week the U.S. Department of Energy gave its approval for the project to proceed to the next phase of development. This means that a detailed engineering design can begin, along with a production schedule and budget. If everything goes according to plan, construction on what will be the world’s largest digital camera should begin in 2014.

A 3.2 billion-pixel digital camera designed by SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is now one step closer to reality. The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope camera, which will capture the widest, fastest and deepest view of the night sky ever observed, has received “Critical Decision 1” approval by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to move into the next stage of the project.

The Bionic Eye

I've dreamed in colour for the first time in 20 years': Blind British man can see again after first successful implant of 'bionic' eye microchips.

  • Microchips restore sight to people suffering retinitis pigmentosa - an incurable condition that leads to blindness
  • Condition affects one in every 3,000-4,000 people
  • Clinical trial with two sufferers 'exceeds expectations'
  • Sufferers able to detect outlines of objects 'within days'
  • Vision expected to improve further as 3mm chip 'beds in'

It was the ‘magic moment’ that released Chris James from ten years of blindness.

Doctors switched on a microchip that had been inserted into the back of his eye three weeks earlier.

After a decade of darkness, there was a sudden explosion of bright light – like a flash bulb going off, he says.

London - It was the “magic moment” that released Chris James from ten years of blindness.

Doctors switched on a microchip that had been inserted into the back of his eye three weeks earlier.

After a decade of darkness, there was a sudden explosion of bright light – like a flash bulb going off, he says.
Now he is able to make out shapes and light. He hopes his sight – and the way his brain  interprets what the microchip is showing it – will carry on improving.

Bionic Eye - Helps Blind Man Can See

Bionic vision technology aims to restore the sense of vision to people living with blindness and low vision. Initially, our technology targets patients with retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. With time and more research, it is possible that in future this technology can also help patients with other vision impairment conditions.

After being blind for over 20 years, a British man is regaining the gift of sight — thanks to a pioneering bionic eye implant.

AIRbudz earbuds enables ambient noise to come in

Now here is a different earbud solution for those who love their music, and yet want to get a handle on what is going on around them – with the AIRbudz earbud solution that paves the way for ambient noise to roll in. First launched on Kickstarter, SafeSound Products hopes that runners, bikers and music enthusiasts will be able to pool their monetary resources together in order to get the AIRbudz up and running. After all, it is not worth keeping fit so that you can live for a few more years only to have your life shortened in the blink of an eye because you failed to heed the warning honk of a fast moving vehicle bearing down on you behind.

The Mili’s Power Bean – Charge Devices

You could buy a backup battery, and as practical as that seems I have very rarely seen anyone actually do it, or you can just buy Mili’s Power Bean, designed for any Android phone that uses a mini USB type charger, the Power Bean is very capable indeed, boasting right around, 2000mAh, which, for most battery capacities is just about one full charge.

Samsung Omnia M runs off Windows Phone platform

When we talk about smartphones from Samsung, most of us would think of the Android operating system that is so prevalent among the major smartphone manufacturers, including the behemoth that we know of as Samsung. Well, they have their very own in house operating system as well known as the Bada OS, but Bada has not really taken off in a large way, and could be confined as a niche operating system in the end. Samsung, too, has dabbled in the world of the Windows Phone platforms but the thrust of their smartphone business had always been Android-centric.

Lubricheck – NOT to Change Your Oil

You know how ever since you first were learning to drive your dad told you that you needed to have the oil changed in your car about every 5000 miles? Remember how every time you didn’t do it (and that was a lot) you felt guilty and like you were ruining your car? Well, as it turns out you may have been on to something, the oil in your car isn’t always bad, and doesn’t always need changing at 5000 miles, but how can you know for sure?

Aquapod Soda Bottle Rocket Launcher

Soda can be said to be the lifeblood for many a hyperactive kid as well as adults, so it is no wonder that our landfills are getting more and more of those empty soda bottles. If you want to take up the responsibility of keeping our planet clean and green by recycling, then you might want to check out the $24.99 Aquapod Soda Bottle Rocket Launcher. It is basically a science experiment that you would do well to give it a go when outdoors – and not indoors. Using a clever combination of air and water, you are able to launch a 2 liter plastic soda bottle all the way up to 100 feet into the air.

Definitely a messy project to play around with when you are indoors, so it is highly not recommended to have “fun” this way unless you have a rather comprehensive insurance policy, that is. It is recommended that a bike pump with a pressure gauge is used so that you know just how much pressure has built up inside. The Aquapod comes with an emergency release at 60psi, so if you want to maximize the effect, just pump it up to just before that.

Samsung to mass produce 55″ OLED TV

The 2012 Samsung Premium TV Showcase saw Samsung Electronics unveil what is deemed as the world’s first large-screen OLED TV, which has been made ready for mass production. Also known as the model number ES9500, the Samsung ES9500 OLED TV is said to deliver unprecedented picture quality, a wide range of Smart Content, and premium design that marks a spanking a new era in history where Samsung and the TV industry are concerned. Not only that, this new new OLED TV from Samsung is already an award winner, having picked up the Best of Innovations Award Honoree gong at CES 2012 which happened in Las Vegas, Nevada, earlier this January.

Fahrradi Farfalla FFX requires pedal power to run

We do know that owning a Ferrari would mean you have made it in life, more or less. After all, the Italian company does come up with some of the best supercars in the world, but as we all know, supercars are far from green – even if Ferrari promises a hybrid model to arrive later in 2013. Well, here is the greenest “supercar” yet – the Fahrradi Farfalla FFX that will break one speed record by Ferrari – it is the slowest “supercar” yet. Why do we say so? For starters, Austrian artist Hannes Langwelder decided to swap its V12 gas engine and replace that with a set of pedals. No need to pull up at any gas station here, but it also means arriving at your destination after sweating it out.

Floating Rope Swing

Just how high have you gone on the swing before? As a kid, I have always tried to get enough momentum to go a full circle, but somehow or rather, that never happened. Which is a good thing too, when you come to think about it today – there was no seat belt to strap me in, and I probably would not have achieved the kind of terminal velocity required to go a full circle without falling down and breaking my neck halfway up in the air, upside down. For those who still want to achieve something similar, don’t you think it is safer to do it on water? This is where the $3,800 Floating Rope Swing comes in handy this summer (or if you happen to be filthy rich and own an island that you call your own).

The Best Micro Cut Shredder

Hammacher has come up with what they call the “The Best Micro Cut Shredder“, and until I try it out for myself, I would have my reservations at placing a superlative adjective right in front of the product name. Anyone given this $239.95 shredder a go yet? Fire away in the comments as to what you think of it. What I garnered from Hammacher is this – this micro cut shredder managed to produce the smallest shreds and cut the most sheets at once, hence is deemed as deserving of its moniker.

Basically, The Best Micro Cut Shredder will be able to slice paper into 0.39″ x 0.08″ indecipherable shreds, which is far smaller than the 1.77″ x .20″ pieces that are churned out by lesser models. Surely this would make piecing together shredded information a whole lot harder, even if you are a puzzle expert. The durable steel blades are also said to be able to easily cut through paper clips and completely destroy CDs and credit cards. Not only that, it is a silent worker, generating 57.03 dB of noise which is quieter than a normal conversation if you were wondering.

Dragon Grip churns out kung fu noises

Once in a while, crowdfunding site Kickstarter does have some pretty cool looking projects, where they have ranged from the usual iPhone 4/4S case all the way to a new remake of a classic game (Leisure Suit Larry). Well, what do we have here today? Dragon Grip Interactive, the folks behind real life gaming experiences, has unveiled the Dragon Grip. Just what the heck is the Dragon Grip, does it allow you to literally hold a mythical dragon in the palm of your hands?

Apparently not, but there is still something very oriental about the Dragon Grip, considering this is a patented hand held toy which is capable of churning out kung fu fighting sound effects. Yes sir, no longer do you need to rely on your imagination when you have a couple of action figures in your hands as you regale tales of old to your son before he heads off to dreamland – just use the Dragon Grip for the added dash of sound effects, and I am confident that many years from now, your son who is all grown up, will still be able to remember the kind of realism his bedtime stories sound like thanks to the Dragon Grip.

V-MODA wants to protect your ears with the Faders VIP

If there is one risk that listening to your favorite tunes while wearing a pair of headphones, it would be this – there is a tendency to raise the volume to ever increasing levels, that you might not notice it, but you are slowly but surely getting deaf. Well, V-MODA has decided to introduce the latest addition to the Ear Armor hearing protection line, calling their latest set of headphones the Faders VIP.

Flying Hovercraft for the uber rich

You might not be the king of the world with this $190,000 Flying Hovercraft, but you could pretty much come close when you think about it. After all, it is no pittance, the price tag of this puppy. Basically, the Flying Hovercraft does what it does best – to glide over land and water, and yet being capable of soaring up in the air for up to 70mph thanks to the aid of integrated wings. There is also the presence of a 130-hp twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled gasoline engine which is turbocharged and fuel-injected.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the lightest Ultrabook in the market

We all know that Ultrabooks came about as a response to the Apple MacBook Air, where the latter was amazingly thin, so much so that there were reports online that some people tossed out their MacBook Air alongside a stack of newspapers simply because it was too thin to be noticed. Well, Ultrabooks have come some way since it was introduced not too long ago, and the thin form factor remains a prevalent design theme that is set to stay. What needs to change, however, is the type of hardware that is stashed inside, and Lenovo has just offered the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, touting it to be the lightest Ultrabook in the market at press time.

Fujitsu collar monitor for your pooch

The cloud can also be described as an abstract place, where your digital consciousness has a residence there since facets of your life are stored in that virtual area which is backed by physical disks, located somewhere in the world. Fujitsu intends to bring the use of cloud technology to a new level thanks to a spanking new collar-mounted device that was specially designed to monitor your dog’s activity level. Of course, this will not rely on something as monotonous as ensuring your pooch’s Twitter stream is updated from time to time, but offers far more important information including delivering helpful health monitoring, activity level, and the external temperature, and all such information is sent to a cloud-based health service that is tipped to roll out sometime later in the year. Fujitsu claims that the device being small and lightweight, consumes very little power, allowing your pooch to wear it just about round the clock. No idea on whether it is waterproof or not though, as some dogs just love swimming more than most. I guess our four legged friend can now go to the great big cloud up there even when they are still alive, no?

Spyder 3 Krypton Laser – Is it Over the Moon?

The Spyder 3 Krypton is the world’s brightest handheld laser. How bright is it? I’m glad you asked, the Krypton is so powerful, its currently being checked out by Guinness World records. This little gizmo is actually capable of breaking through our atmosphere and into outer space. Which of course comes in handy for those of us trying to communicate with our extra terrestrial friends or wayward astronauts.

LG Optimus 4X HD to arrive in Europe soon

LG has announced that its Optimus 4X HD, first revealed to the world at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, in February this year, is finally about to make its debut in the world markets – starting with Western Europe first. Just what kind of hardware does the LG Optimus 4X HD carry? Let us go through a little bit of a refresher here – you will, of course, get the uber speedy NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, not to mention the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system right out of the box so that you need not wait for any software update after that.

The Driverless Car

Nevada has the distinction of becoming the first state to issue a license for a driverless car, and the lucky recipient is Google. So the next time the car in front of you is making you positively nuts there may not be anyone there to give the middle finger salute, and honking the horn will fall on deaf ears (or no ears at all for that matter.)

GoPro Dive Housing lets you go underwater

When it comes to mounted cameras, the name GoPro certainly rings a bell, as we have also seen some of their offerings in the past that are certainly cool in its own nature. Well, this time around, GoPro wants you to enjoy your underwater experience (snorkeling, especially) with the GoPro Dive Housing that will come with a large, flat glass lens which paves the way for maximum photo and video sharpness even when you are underwater, allowing you to snap away or record in a myriad of resolutions. It is said that the GoPro Dive Housing is waterproof up to 197 feet or 60 meters, making it ideal also for underwater filming if that is your cup of tea.

Etcher delivers Etch A Sketch for the iPad

I am quite sure that when you first played Draw Something on the iPad, you must have figured out that the iPad, if it had a properly programmed app, would also be able to double up as some form of Etch A Sketch, a toy that gave you many hours of fond memories as a child. Well, I guess those prayers have been answered, as a Kickstarter project that is looking for the right amount of funding has just announced Etcher – an app for the iPad that has every intention of delivering the Etch A Sketch experience right on the iPad itself. This is more like it – the convergence of the old and the new, merging new technologies with tried, tested and successful ideas.

Inflatable iMusic Chair

There is nothing quite like the feeling of sinking down on your favorite chair at the end of a hard day’s work, sipping on a cup of your favorite beverage while you are at it. Instead of forking out plenty of money for a La-Z-Boy chair as well as a Bang & Olufsen sound system, you might want to play around with your budget a little bit with the $39.99 Inflatable iMusic Chair. Yes sir, not only does this piece of furniture save space whenever you are not using it (it is inflatable, after all, and can be deflated for easy storage), it is also highly affordable and will be compatible with most smartphones, portable media players and MP3 players, as long as they work with the 3.5mm jack.

Each purchase will come with a foot pump so that you can inflate it without passing up from using all of your lung power- headphone cable - There is a cute little little divot specially “carved” out for your posterior, while a headrest ensures your head remains snugly in place with surround sound speakers soothing the day’s pains and aches away with your favorite music.

Google’s Project Glass – Welcome to the Future

Imagine this if you will, you’re walking down the street engaged in a video chat with your friend, who is 6000 miles away, taking pictures and planning your day when you realize you don’t know where you are, as you look up and to the right a computer screen appears in your line of vision, and you ask it to find the nearest subway station, and it does. The coolest part of this story is that this technology is out on our streets, right now.
